Tailored to your Mac

The hard part of running AI locally is knowing what your Mac can take. On first launch LocalLab runs a few seconds of speed tests, then rates every model and job for your Mac — how much memory it needs against how much you have, and how long it should take — and chooses its settings to fit. Long jobs wait in a queue and run one at a time, so each gets the whole Mac.

Private by design

No accounts, no analytics, no tracking, and no server of ours. The only connection LocalLab makes is to Hugging Face, to search for and download models. Your conversations, recordings, pictures, videos and results never leave your Mac. Read the privacy policy.

Requirements

A Mac with Apple silicon (M1 or later) and macOS 14 or later.
Models are downloaded separately, from under 1 GB to tens of gigabytes. LocalLab tells you what fits before you download anything, and shows each model's licence.
